Lower Prut Survey
Land Support Systems was hired by Millennium Challenge Account – Moldova to undertake “Lower Prut River Land & Drainage Survey” assignment.
The assignment entails the the land surveying of the project area focusing on the drainage systems of the two CISs and consists of: (i) establishing survey control and a baseline elevation to enable designers to monitor groundwater hydrology, to implement rehabilitation activities, and to evaluate the project; (ii) surveying previously installed groundwater monitoring wells to establish the well elevations and locations; (iii) establishing two (2) river staff gauges to monitor river stage; (iv) surveying profile cross-section transects across surface drains to enable designers to define the limits of excavation and estimate quantities; (v) mapping of main and secondary drains in the unmapped portion of the Cahul project area; and (vi) establishing the drainage system connectivity and flow directions.
